Nigerian Movie Review: Chief Odugwu played by Ashley Nwosu wants his son Richard played by Desmond Elliot to marry Rita to solidify the relationship that he has with Rita’s father. Richard protests to his parents letting them know that he has already made his own choice in Eva, played by Ebube Nwagbo but such protests are to no avail. The engagement party is planned and it is there in front of the two families that Richard collapses, all an act to put off the impending engagement. This is not enough for Richard’s family to back off, instead they continue to put pressure on this to marry Rita.
Nollywood Movie Review: Tanya and Sonia are sisters, played by real life sisters Sana and Kizzy Kanu. Their father dies and they return to Nigeria to handle family business and attend his burial after having lived most of their lives in the United States of America. As soon as they arrive back they give their Aunt Susan with whom they are staying hell. They are rude and obnoxious and this behaviour is turned up even more when they find out that their aunt is going to be in charge of their inheritance until they turn 25.
Chief Dom is a widower that lives with his two daughters and son. Since his wife died he fills up his time sleeping with young girls who are pleased to pander to his every whim for the money that he is showering them with. 2 of Chief’s children are wayward. The son is and armed robber and the daughter is promiscuous and directionless. His other daughter Gina is the one that tries to hold the family together. She constantly tries to talk to her family members to get them to clean up their lives but her pleas fall on deaf ears.
Elvis played by Charles Inojie and Lucky played by Bishop Imoh are two out of work hustlers who want make a movie. With the help of Prince who provides sponsorship they set about trying to make this happen. Prince, however is adamant that his favourite stars Mona Lisa Chinda and Ramsey Noah must feature for him to be involved. It becomes quickly apparent to the two that with the budget they are working with that it is going to be virtually impossible. Schola works in a local pepper soup join tand dreams of becoming the next big thing. Elvis and Lucky decide that if they cannot afford Mona Lisa and Ramsey they will make them appear by force and use Schola to shoot the movie vigilante style.
Miriam and her husband Chief Peters have two young daughters. Her husband is much older than she is and they appear incompatible. Ahmed, played by Ramsey Noah meets Gracie, played by Chika Ike one night when she is out drunk on the street after spending the night out by herself at a bar. He comes to her rescue by putting her in his car and taking her home. Their paths happen to collide again, this time at a fast food joint. Ahmed is too scared to approach Gracie as he believes that Bright, played by Chigozie Atuanya is her boyfriend. Once Ahmed does his research and finds out that Bright is in fact just a friend he begins to pursue Gracie relentlessly, however there is a problem he is Muslim and she is Christian.
Maxwell meets Jenny when he runs her over in his taxi. He takes her of her until she is released from hospital and from there a friendship blossoms. Max falls on hard times and she promises to help him out as long as he promises that their friendship will last for eternity. He makes the promise but her definition of friendship does not match his and so it remains to be seen whether or not he will keep the promise and what the repercussions will be if he does not.
After Ben’s father dies he and his mother approach Chief George his uncle for his father’s shares in the family company so that he can continue his studies abroad. His uncle refuses but then in the same breath answer’s the phone in their presence to grant his son the sum of £6000 for his accommodation in the UK. He claims that his stinginess towards his nephew is borne out of a desire to turn him into a “real man.”
