Mercy Johnson plays a woman called Mosun and Rita Dominic plays a woman called Preye. They are best friends from childhood into adulthood. The root of Preye’s wild and promiscuous behaviour is the sexual abuse she endured as a child in the hands of her uncle. It is as though by taking control of her sexuality and becoming a seductress in such a dominant way she is trying to wash away that feeling of being powerless as a child. By contrast Mosun is the complete opposite to Preye, disgusted by the idea of casual sex and dowdily dressed to downplay her sexuality. She too has been a victim of child sexual abuse at the hands of her step-father.

Who would have thought a business proposal for a 10 million Naira sponsorship could throw her into so much turmoil? Collins approaches John’s (Jane’s husband) company for 10 million naira funding to set up his own business. Without knowing who was asking for the money Jane advised her husband to not release the funds, claiming that it would be a bad business move. It is only when Collins returns to the bank to plead his case for funding and meets Jane in the office that we learn that they know each other.

He spends his time interrupting his former friend’s business meetings, causing scenes in public and continually pestering Ufoma. He can not seem to get over the betrayal that he feels his friend has committed. There is a history between the friends. And this is not the first time that trust between the two has been broken.

Chiege plays Sylvia a repeat husband snatcher, while Henry Opara plays Benson, someone who appears to be and upstanding member of the church but who in fact has a plot which is less than ethical. He seduces another member of the congregation, who is an “old cargo” desperate for marriage. He promises her a life partnership, but in fact plans to bleed her dry financially without ever actually making it up the altar.

Their parents promised each other when they were babies that they would be married in the future. During university they become engaged to be married. Inseparable from childhood Nnamdi promises Tracey that they will marry after graduation and complteting Youth Service.

Sandra had an accident in the past which we learn causes her to sometimes behave inappropriately. Cassandra even goes as far as to tell a friend that she feels to kill Sandra because she is so disgusted by her.

Their uncle does not want them to go to school not wanting to waste money on children who are not his own. Uche ends up sleeping with uncle because he promises to send her to school if she does so. This one act sends her life (and the lives of others) on a downward spiral.
