Nigerian Movie Review: Sylvester played by Van Vicker is facing opposition from his family after returning to Nigeria after leaving the seminary. He brings a new girlfriend Christine played by Mercy Johnson that he wants to marry to his family and they shun her. His mother in particular is very upset with his. We find out that he was excommunicated but the full extent of what transpired is not revealed until Christine’s cousin Cheta introduces her to her best friend Ifunanya. In Ifunanya’s story we find out exactly why Sylvester was excommunicated and why his mother is so filled with shame. Hezekiah played by Nkem Owoh is a catechist in the parish and is super protective over his youngest daughter since his eldest daughter Ifunanya was raped by someone trusted in the community.

Chief Dom is a widower that lives with his two daughters and son. Since his wife died he fills up his time sleeping with young girls who are pleased to pander to his every whim for the money that he is showering them with. 2 of Chief’s children are wayward. The son is and armed robber and the daughter is promiscuous and directionless. His other daughter Gina is the one that tries to hold the family together. She constantly tries to talk to her family members to get them to clean up their lives but her pleas fall on deaf ears.

Barry is oblivious to the fact that the woman that Adeline (Jackie Appiah) he calls his wife is a notorious prostitute. Twice in once day they are confronted by men from her past. Both were robbed by her or her associates and one claims that on top of that he contracted a venereal disease. Barry believes his wife when she says that she does not know the men. The realisation of the truth only hits him when she runs away from the scene at the second confrontation, after all if she were innocent of the accusations why would she run away?

Santos meets Jenny (Tonto Dikeh) when she comes looking for a job at his company. She is with her friend Amuma (Ini Edo) and he invites them both to the palace with the intention of hooking up Jenny with his father. Nick (Junior Pope) is dating Princess (Eve Esin) but she is a raging alcoholic and he is fed up with her slobbish ways. He dumps her after a party where she attempts to make a pass at the king. In a side story Johnson has proposed to Jennifer numerous times but she is not interested.

His uncle refuses but then in the same breath answer’s the phone in their presence to grant his son the sum of £6000 for his accommodation in the UK. He claims that his stinginess towards his nephew is borne out of a desire to turn him into a “real man.”

His parents spend their time trying to figure out what is happening with their son and Adimka plyed by Ini Edo runs around campus trying to cull the excesses of her wayward sister Uche played by Oge Okoye. Soon a family tragedy brings them all together and the focus in their lives changes. Now there is only one question. WHO DONE IT?

Ignatius and Kenneth are Princes from a royal polygamous family. Ignatius’ mother is the first wife Head Queen Onyinye, while Kenneth’s mother, Ozuluonye is the King’s second wife. Kenneth and Ignatius are as close as full brothers as well as cherishing each other’s mothers as their own. Onyine is not happy with this close relationship between the boys and is intent on causing discord by planting seeds of jealousy into her son’s head to make him want to compete with his brother rather than working alongside him. Her manipulation is successful and very soon Ignatius is well under his mother’s control.

It all began when Ernie’s mother married his father. Kodili’s mother claimed that Ernie’s mother had snatched her man and married him. She blames Ernie’s mother for her condition in life. She is resentful that she married a poor man and remained in the village in poverty, while Ernie’s mother, due to marrying a wealthy man had the benefit of an educated and well travelled son to shower her with gifts on his visits home. Their sons are grown and decades have passed but the feud between the two women continues and ultimately tears both families apart.
