The Enemy I See

Mama (Patience Ozokwor) has arrived back in the village from America after visiting her daughter and puts on airs and graces as though she has been out of the country for decades rather than one year. On her return she does not contact her best friend or eldest daughter which leaves them resentful. Her friend Chinyere is envious of how she now parades around the village and despite smiling and joking with her spreads rumours around the village about how she is too proud of herself. She also starts putting pressure on her young daughters to find men to settle down with so she too can reap the benefits as Bridget has from her son in law.

Tony played by Artus Frank is a recent graduate and his family in the village are very proud especially when he returns from the city looking like he is living large. The reality of the matter is that he goes to live in the city with his friend Harry played by Junior Pope, but despite applying for many jobs he cannot find anyone to hire him. It would appear that his credentials are so impressive that employers believe him to be overqualified. After much disappointment in his job search Tony gets involved in 419 and strikes it lucky. He comes back shortly afterwards to take his brother Chibuzor (Victor Okonkwo) and sister Ifeoma (Oby Udeogalanya) to join him.

She belittles her husband because he is not wealthy, despite the fact that he is the one that bought her the restaurant that she runs. Her goal in life appears to be to attain riches through her daughter Sandra. She does this by accepting money and gifts from Sandra’s prospective suitors knowing full well that she has no intention of marrying her to them. It is only when she messes about with the wrong man that she is forced into cleaning up her greedy act.

Collins approaches John’s (Jane’s husband) company for 10 million naira funding to set up his own business. Without knowing who was asking for the money Jane advised her husband to not release the funds, claiming that it would be a bad business move. It is only when Collins returns to the bank to plead his case for funding and meets Jane in the office that we learn that they know each other.
