‘I’ll Take My Chances’ the much anticipated blockbuster produced by Emem Isong & Ini Edo,will be screened & premiering at the Silverbird Cinemas, Lagos on February 24, 2012. The movie stars the talented Ini Edo and former Mr Nigeria, Bryan Okwara as well as other leading acts like Canadian born dancer, Ashleigh Clark, the late Sam Efe Loco, Jide Kosoko, Biola Williams, Lilian Ini Ikpe and many others. Ably supported by a retinue of professional dancers and together, I’ll take My Chances is a magical story of dance, drama, love and intrigue. This movie is cultural fiesta that showscases the best that Nigeria and indeed Africa has to offer and it is all beautifully woven in this movie. Parts of the movie were shot in Lagos as well as scenic areas in Cross River and Akwa Ibom state. Directing was done by Desmond Elliot, and the screenplay was written by Kehinde Joseph, Uduak Oguamanam & Bola Aduwo.
Banky Da Silva played by Ramsey Noah is involved in a serious car accident and ends up in the hospital with amnesia where Dr Dammmy played by Nse Ikpe Etim is his doctor. Doctor and patient grow very close to the point where they are soon involved in a torrid love affair. It is to the extent that when he is released from the hospital the doctor becomes a regular visitor at his home, cooking his meals and keeping him company. Halle Davis played by Ini Edo is an out of work desperate for work actress who goes on audition after audition and ends up landing a lead role after claiming her fiancé is Banky and with the promise that the will bankroll the whole movie. How will she get herself out of the big mess and web of lies she has entangled herself in?
Gloria played by Tonto Dikeh is lonely because her husband works all the time. She ends up seducing an electrician called Johnson, played by Yul Edochie that she meets when he is carrying out electrical maintenance work at Calista’s (Ini Edo) house. Annie is getting pressured to get married and when she meets Johnson she believes that he is the one, little does she know about the sordid things that he is involved in when he is not with her.
Nollywood Movies Review: Derrick played by Omalicha Chuks and his wife Melissa played by Uche Dili are having problems conceiving and it is the root of all their arguments with each one blaming the other. The prince too played by John Dumelo has issues concerning the same thing. He is being pressured into having children, as his wife, played by Ini Edo and he are childless after years of marriage. He is visited by the elders of his community to ask why he and his wife have not yet had a child. The Igwe is concerned that there will not be an heir.
Months after she declared interest to go into movie production, Screen Diva Ini Edo has finally decided to put her dreams to screen as she produces her first movie, along with industry veteran Emem Isong. which will be premiered on the 15th of October at 10A Ikoyi Avenue, off Macpherson Street, off Bourdillion Road, Ikoyi, Lagos. The movie tells the story of Halle an aspiring actress who had atteneded several auditions without getting a role. She finally gets her chance when she claims to be Bankole Da Silva’s fiancée, an oil magnate she’s never met.
The King of Obodare (Kenneth Okonkwo) is looking for a wife and has sent his son that he had 14years old Santos (Ken Erics) the task of doing so. Santos meets Jenny (Tonto Dikeh) when she comes looking for a job at his company. She is with her friend Amuma (Ini Edo) and he invites them both to the palace with the intention of hooking up Jenny with his father. Nick (Junior Pope) is dating Princess (Eve Esin) but she is a raging alcoholic and he is fed up with her slobbish ways. He dumps her after a party where she attempts to make a pass at the king. In a side story Johnson has proposed to Jennifer numerous times but she is not interested.
Four siblings played by Ini Edo, Uche Jombo, John Paul Nwadike and Junior Pope Odonwodo are out of control, and show nothing but disrespect towards their parents. We see Amara come and meet a prospective suitor in front of her parents, drunk and making inappropriate gestures. Her sister Nkem returns from the United States hooked on cocaine and the two brothers behave like terrorists in the house, from selling their father’s car without his knowledge to raping the house help Ifunaya. Their parents have reached the end of their tether and vow that they will not accept the behaviour anymore, however it takes much more than that for change to happen.
Onus, played by Mike Ezuruonye is part of an armed robbery gang. One day he is kidnapped while walking through some dense forest land. His kidnapper is a vagrant woman, Diana played by Ini Edo who lives there in isolation and has made the forest her home. She is menacing and has a tough and steely exterior, Onus however is able to break through her defences and seduce her. In seducing her he gains his freedom and she willingly releases him. Onus relays the story back to the rest of the gang and impressed with Diana’s bravado they elect to crown her first lady. They believe that her fearlessness and propensity for violence will make her a good fit for the team. Little do they know that her bloodthirsty ways will exceed all their expectations!
Zainab is due a visit home and her friend Aisha is accompanying her. Despite her father making reservations for the both of them to fly into Abuja, Zainab is hell bent on driving instead, seeking “adventure.” Although at first Aisha refuses to join Zainab on the drive to Abuja, she relents and ends up joining her. Zainab definitely finds the adventure that she was looking for. At first they get lost and the car breaks down. They manage to get help with the help of a stranger but when sunset hits and the gas runs out they are left no option but to follow and intimidating stranger into the bush. It remains to be seen whether he is to be trusted or not…
