Mama (Patience Ozokwor) has arrived back in the village from America after visiting her daughter and puts on airs and graces as though she has been out of the country for decades rather than one year. On her return she does not contact her best friend or eldest daughter which leaves them resentful. Her friend Chinyere is envious of how she now parades around the village and despite smiling and joking with her spreads rumours around the village about how she is too proud of herself. She also starts putting pressure on her young daughters to find men to settle down with so she too can reap the benefits as Bridget has from her son in law.

Zila (Zynell Lydia Zuh) has been planning weddings for the better part of six years, as a wedding planner and events consultant yet she yearns to plan her own. Kristine Adams (Ciara Zita Galega) is a consultant oncologist is a hospital. Serena Rowlands Mills (Mzbel) is a top actress. All these women are friends and they have 2 things common. They are all single women looking for the man of their dreams.
Debbie played by Uche Jombo and her two friends Nancy and Oluchi played by Uche Nnanna and Ruby Orjiakor are runs girls on campus. They usually arrange their runs through a middleman on campus but Debbie’s desperations to make quick money for her sick father’s hospital bills drives her to the club looking for clients without that safety measure. It is while out at a club doing runs that she comes across Emeka played by Van Vicker who takes a liking to her and hires her out for the whole night. After the night is over they part ways but bump into each other another night in the same club. Emeka sees Debbie dancing with a guy and becomes insanely jealous, confronting and fighting with the guy that she is dancing with. Things develop very quickly between the two and an obsessed Emeka wants Debbie exclusively but will she be able to leave the lifestyle that she is accustomed to behind?

She does not like the fact that Fabian likes her friend and not her so she sets about spreading on campus that Anita has Asthma in a bid to stigmatise her.

The friendship progresses to a romantic love and all of a sudden Nonso’s best friend Uzo has a problem with the relationship, claiming that he had his eye on Nneka first and only did not make a move because he was “assessing her character.” At the time Nonso is living with Uzo, only for Uzo to throw him out giving him no idea as to whathas caused the rift between them. It turns out that Uzo’s father had picked out Nneka as the girl he should marry but had not pursued it any further than suggesting it to his son as Uzo labelled Nneka, “a villager” and “classless.”
Kelvin and Bankole were business partners but a fall out over money resulted in Bankole going to Kelvin’s home in the middle of the night and gunning down him, his wife, daughter and house help down in front of their home in cold blood. The bodies are found not long after the shooting by Kelvin’s brother Enyinnaya and his wife.
