Tragedy strikes for happily married newlyweds Pabi and Jimah when a domestic accident involving hot oil leaves his face horrifically disfigured with second degree burns. Jimah struggles to accept that he is irrevocably scarred and the devoted loving husband that she once knew is emerges angry and abusive monster, seemingly intent on driving her away.
Ghanaian filmmaker and director Leila Djansi has now spoken on this issue that has been buzzing around the internet the past few days. The internet has been abuzz with the story that Senanu Gbedawo used Leila’s personal assistant to swindle large sums of money from her and to try to procure movie roles. Men are so shameless these days and its scary. Does the guy not have his own money? Is he not working? Shameless useless hegoat. You would think that the man would have more pride. Africa Academy-nominated writer/director Leila Djansi is pushing the envelnope in her upcoming much anticipated film “Sinking Sands,” which can be seen on Nov. 13, at the National Theater. The film deals with the subject of abuse, but also has nudity and sex scenes, which is newly introduced by Ghanaian filmmakers. Leila talks about how she handles nudity and sex in films, which is not new to films around the world.

The film tells the story of a couple, Jimah (Jean-Louis) and Pabi (Abebrese) in a loving marriage which turns into one of violence and abuse when Jimah becomes disfigured in a domestic accident.
