Irreplaceable

Roderick played by Desmond Elliot has a girlfriend Melissa played by Tonto Dikeh that he has been engaged to for over three years but he shows no interest at all in marrying. Roderick’s family are badgering him to take her as a wife but he does not know if he ever even wants to get married. Melissa is desperate to be married to him even employing his father to help her persuade him to marry her. In their desperation they hire Lydia, a psychoanalyst played by Oge Okoye to try and get to the bottom of why their son is so emotionally cold. Is there some psychological trauma from his past that he is hiding and has not overcome? Will he ever get married?

Blood On Fire

Akamas played by John Okafor is wooing Felicia played by Queen Wokoma. She appears to be the perfect woman and Akamas is even the envy of his good friend Ebuka played by Junior Pope. Seeing their relationships makes junior want his own perfect woman. He wants to get married. However felicia isn’t the angel she appears to be and that soon becomes apparent when John loses his money in a bad deal and her attitude towards him changes completely. Ikenna played by Zubby Michael has just found out that he suffers from sickle cell anaemia and blames his parents for “bringing me into this world to suffer.” He becomes rebellious and violent towards his parents making their life a living hell.

Nigerian Movie Review: Derek Douglas played by Van Vicker is a huge celebrity actor. A date with one of his female fans Lily played by Bimbo Akintola is the start of big drama. He decides to surprise the fan by turning up to her hotel room to take her out for dinner. Little does he know that the one he chats to on the internet called Miss Spiffy was not in the hotel room that day but rather the maid Gina, played by Mercy Johnson who was trying on her clothes. They end up going on a date together and so starts the web of deceit.

Nigerian Movie Review: Sylvester played by Van Vicker is facing opposition from his family after returning to Nigeria after leaving the seminary. He brings a new girlfriend Christine played by Mercy Johnson that he wants to marry to his family and they shun her. His mother in particular is very upset with his. We find out that he was excommunicated but the full extent of what transpired is not revealed until Christine’s cousin Cheta introduces her to her best friend Ifunanya. In Ifunanya’s story we find out exactly why Sylvester was excommunicated and why his mother is so filled with shame. Hezekiah played by Nkem Owoh is a catechist in the parish and is super protective over his youngest daughter since his eldest daughter Ifunanya was raped by someone trusted in the community.

It is Sophia’s (Mercy Johnson) wedding day and her mother in law to be, played by Ebele Okaro approaches her as she is leaving the house with her bridal party and accuses her of using her “cursed pregnancy” to trap her son. She then attacks Sophia by violently pulling down the top of her dress and knocking the hat of her mother’s head. Sophia flees and gets into an accident whereby she loses the baby and in turn becomes infertile. Sophia and Tony are determined to get married despite it all but Mama Tony too us determined that Sophia not marry her son. Will they ever get married?

His uncle refuses but then in the same breath answer’s the phone in their presence to grant his son the sum of £6000 for his accommodation in the UK. He claims that his stinginess towards his nephew is borne out of a desire to turn him into a “real man.”

Ben sees a lady in distress and comes to her rescue, paying the driver so that he can go away. They swap numbers and very quickly the two are an item and in love. Nora is contemplating marrying Ben, when the status quo is knocked out of kilter. Her ex fiancée resurfaces begging for forgiveness and a chance to right his wrongs. Not only is he begging for a chance but so it her best friend’s brother Tony. What is a girl to do?

Zainab is due a visit home and her friend Aisha is accompanying her. Despite her father making reservations for the both of them to fly into Abuja, Zainab is hell bent on driving instead, seeking “adventure.” Although at first Aisha refuses to join Zainab on the drive to Abuja, she relents and ends up joining her. Zainab definitely finds the adventure that she was looking for. At first they get lost and the car breaks down. They manage to get help with the help of a stranger but when sunset hits and the gas runs out they are left no option but to follow and intimidating stranger into the bush. It remains to be seen whether he is to be trusted or not…

It is not until she makes friends with Nkem, played by Tonto Dikeh and realises that she too is a princess but stays understated that she starts thinking that it is not a necessity to flaunt her status at every given opportunity.
