Blackberry Babes Season 2

A man called Dennis is chatting to a girl on Facebook that he believes is in Jamaica, only for his friend to visit him with his girlfriend and for him to see that it is the same girl on Facebook. It turns out that her picture was stolen by an ex-boyfriend who has been using it to defraud innocent lonely men on Facebook. The conman ex-boyfriend is part of a fraud ring called The Knights. Leo, played by John Paul Nwadike, who is a member of The Knights is at danger of being thrown out as his indiscrete ways bring the group to the attention of the law. Cyrene played by Tonto Dikeh has been selling her body in an organised prostitute ring called The Angels, to her brother in law. She feels guilty about cheating with her sister’s husband and wants to break free from sleeping with him but he resorts to blackmail to keep her where he wants her, and with her boss’ consent. Jude, played by Yul Edochie who is Lord of the Knights wants to save enough money to settle down with Cyrene but when a fellow Knight steals his money, he is broke and decides to start pimping women. It is not long before everybody’s sordid secrets are dramatically spilled in a huge confrontation.

Her friend Chinyere is envious of how she now parades around the village and despite smiling and joking with her spreads rumours around the village about how she is too proud of herself. She also starts putting pressure on her young daughters to find men to settle down with so she too can reap the benefits as Bridget has from her son in law.

They are childless and both frustrated by it. Ogugua is Chioma’s 15 year old niece. She is being sexually abused by her father and soon her mother and aunt hatch a shocking plan that only adds trouble to the young girl’s condition.

Desmond played by Yul Edochie and Lola played by Annie Macaulay are engaged to be married but their relationship is being put in jeopardy by a girl that Lola keeps meeting in his home who claims to have been dating him for years, however when Desmond is around she disappeared. Is she a ghost?

She ends up seducing an electrician called Johnson, played by Yul Edochie that she meets when he is carrying out electrical maintenance work at Calista’s (Ini Edo) house. Annie is getting pressured to get married and when she meets Johnson she believes that he is the one, little does she know about the sordid things that he is involved in when he is not with her.

While driving two friends Enyioma and Osondu played by Mike Ezuruonye and Yul Edochie come across a road accident. Enyioma exits the car to go and investigate and helps the locals retrieve a man from the wreckage which Osondu then reluctantly helps him take to the hospital in their vehicle. At the hospital they refuse to treat the dying man without a police report. Despite Enyioma not seeing the need for a police report as no crime has been comitted he agrees to their demands in order to save the man’s life. It is when he goes to get the report from the police station that the trouble really starts.

Nollywood Review: When Rebecca played by Tonto Dikeh is widowed by the death of her husband’s David, his family (especially his daughter Rose) blame her for his death to the point that she is taken to court for his death. On the last day of her trial a medical doctor steps in to give evidence to say that on the night her husband died she was in the care of his hospital. This is a blatant lie, she was not at his hospital on the night of ther husband’s death, he in fact found out about the case on the news and decided to come to her rescue producing false documents to prove her innocence. The question is why would he do that?

Mr Phillips played by Chiwetalu Agu is the school teacher responsible for awarding a much coveted scholarship to study at a university in the UK. Teddy is the brightest boy in his class but it looks like Mr Phillips is going to fix it so that another student, Victor who is a failing receives the scholarship instead. This is because he has a relationship with Victor’s parents and has been receiving money from them. Mr Phillips provides Victor with a cheat sheet to copy from in the examination room to ensure that the plan does not fail. We get to see what exactly the consequences are when exactly that happens.

Margaret is a minister’s daughter. Her parents despair over her wayward behaviour. She clubs all night and often comes home drunk. Even her boyfriend Ken doubts her integrity as he remembers the dubious circumstance under which he met her and how he was warned against her by the guy that she was with that night. He was warned that she was a thief, and it was a warning that he ignored because Margaret put on an excellent act of innocence and he assumed that the guy reporting her was drunk.
