Synopsis:

After losing his job George played by Kenneth Okonkwo is heavily in debt. It is 3 years that he has been unemployed and there seems to be no way out. One day one of his debtors turns up at his work and strip him naked, giving him just one week to repay the debt. That same day other debtors turn up at his house and remove his TV and radio as he doesn’t have their money to repay. After a long spell of poverty George wins a contract worth millions of naira. He and his wife Ebiere played by Omotola Jalade Ekeinde are overjoyed and in the midst of celebration he engages in a one night stand which is the beginning of a tornado of disaster.
_____________

Poverty

It is because of poverty that uncle Ben thought he could have his wicked way with Ebiere. As if every woman can be bought. He was there telling her that she had married the wrong man as if it would be in her best interest to marry a sneaky almost rapist? If you have to lie to a woman and lock her in a room in order to sleep with her then that tells you that you are doing something wrong.

Promiscuity

George was the one who insisted on sex without a condom and now his whole family are paying the price for his irresponsible behaviour. The movie carries a very strong message. Is a few minutes of fun with a prostitute really worth losing your life over? The movie is hard hitting and shows the serious consequences that can come as a result of casual sex.

Memorable Scene

Watching Kenneth Okonkwo in the club getting drunk and doing funky dancing was hilarious.

_____________

Conclusion:

I would recommend this movie. It is an oldie but goodie. The was good strong acting from both Kenneth and Omotola. Omotola was great as the grieving mother. The dialogue was very realistic as was her interpretation. The themes were real and hard hitting.

  2. tope says:

Oh my, I saw this movie and I am like, "wow, it's a been a while since Omotola has convinced in a role. She was so believable in her lamenting and all, and Kenneth Okonkwo, I just hated his character, which I guess means he did a great job.

The son was so good, where is he now abeg???

The end was really vague, it woulda been nice to have some ends tied up but still it was a pretty solid movie

    Loved it!

  3. Nollywood says:

Kenneth Okonkwo makes me laugh no matter the role… as for Omotola yes it was a good role for her. She is a good actress and I hate to see her playing roles that are beneath her.
